In loving memory of my father.

Kelly Bernard was here.

My father lived 69 years.

He had a voice, a laugh, a story. He had dreams, imperfections, and a life that touched others in ways he may never have fully understood.

I was fortunate enough to share 41 years with him.

When he passed away, I found myself especially grateful for the things I still had: his photographs, his voicemails, the sound of his voice, and the memories that only we shared.

They are reminders that someone can leave this world without leaving our lives.

I believe that every person leaves an imprint on this world. Not all of those imprints make history books. Some live quietly in the people we loved, the conversations we remember, and the small moments we never thought to record.

Those lives deserve to be remembered.

One day, generations of my family who never had the chance to meet my father may be able to see his face, hear his voice, and discover something of the man I knew.

That matters to me.

Four days before he passed, my father left me this voicemail. Just checking in, the way he always did.

It is also part of why PRESERVE matters.

PRESERVE is dedicated to my father, Kelly Bernard, and to everyone who has ever loved someone enough to wish they could hold on to one more moment.

Because a life does not have to be famous to be extraordinary to someone.

Kelly Bernard was here.

With love, Emmanuel K. Bernard, Founder, PRESERVE
